If you are one of the thousands of dedicated nursing aspirants who appeared for the Computer Based Test (CBT) on 22nd November 2025, it is finally time to check your roll numbers. The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, has officially released the Provisional Result Notice for the highly anticipated Nursing Officer recruitment under Advt. This specific recruitment drive was conducted to fill 57 prestigious Nursing Officer posts at the PGI Satellite Centre in Sangrur, Punjab. If your roll number is on this list of 85 provisionally selected and waitlisted candidates, you deserve massive congratulations.
However, your journey to donning the Nursing Officer uniform is not entirely over yet. The next, and arguably most critical hurdle, is Document Verification (DV).

1. Decoding the Vacancy and the Provisional Result List
Before you pack your bags for Chandigarh, it is vital to understand the exact breakdown of the vacancies and how PGIMER has published this result.
The Directorate formulated this recruitment to fill 57 exclusive posts at the PGI Satellite Centre, Sangrur, distributed across categories as follows:
- UR (Unreserved): 22 Posts
- OBC: 16 Posts
- SC: 10 Posts
- ST: 06 Posts
- EWS: 03 Posts
The "Ascending Order" Rule: Do Not Panic About Your Rank! When you download and open the official result PDF, you will see a list of 85 candidates (spanning from Sr. No. 1, Shashi Kant Kasotiya, to Sr. No. 85, Meenakshi Saini).
🚨 Crucial Detail: PGIMER explicitly states that this result is published strictly in the ascending order of roll numbers, and NOT in the order of merit. What does this mean for you? If your name is at the bottom of the list, it simply means your roll number is numerically higher. It does absolutely nothing to indicate that you scored the lowest marks! Your actual merit and final selection rank will be determined only after the document verification process is fully completed.
2. The Next Big Step: Your Document Verification (DV) Schedule
Getting your name on the list is a massive victory, but PGIMER makes it very clear that this list is strictly provisional. Merely appearing on this list does not confer any absolute right to your selection. Your final posting depends entirely on presenting yourself before the verification committee and proving your eligibility with original certificates.
Mark your calendars, set your alarms, and book your tickets because PGIMER does not offer second chances for latecomers or absentees.
- Date of Document Verification: 01.04.2026 (1st April 2026)
- Reporting Time: 10:00 AM sharp
- Venue: APC (Advance Paediatrics Centre) Auditorium, PGIMER Chandigarh
The Harsh Reality of Absence: The PGIMER administration is exceptionally strict about this timeline. The notification clearly warns that if any candidate fails to appear for document verification on the prescribed date and time schedule, their candidature will be instantly cancelled for the Nursing Officer post. No further correspondence or excuses in this regard will be entertained. Do not risk your hard-earned selection due to a delayed train or traffic—plan to reach Chandigarh a day early.
3. The Ultimate Document Verification Checklist: What to Carry
Countless candidates lose their dream jobs at the very last minute because of missing or incorrect documents. You need to present yourself before the Committee with the following Original Documents, alongside clear photocopies of each:
A. Educational & Academic Certificates
- Original 10th & 12th Certificates: You must bring your original 10th and 12th Detailed Marks Certificates (DMC) and passing certificates to verify your date of birth and basic education.
- Original Nursing Qualifications: You must bring original documents proving you hold one of the following:
- B.Sc. (Hons.) in Nursing from a recognized University/Institute.
- Regular course in B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized University/Institute.
- Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized University/Institute.
- OR a Diploma in General Nursing and Mid-wifery (GNM) from a recognized Board or Council.
- Council Registration: Valid registration as a Nurse or Nurse and mid-wife (RN or RN & RM) with your State Nursing Council.
- The GNM Experience Rule: If you are applying via the GNM diploma route, you absolutely must provide proof of One year of experience. Crucially, this experience must have been acquired after acquiring your educational qualifications. Internship periods do not count!
B. Essential Administrative & Category Documents 5. CBT Admit Card: The original Admit Card issued to you for the Computer Based Test (CBT) held on 22.11.2025. 6. Category Certificates: If you belong to SC/ST/OBC/EWS categories, you must bring your original, valid category certificate issued by the competent authority. * Special Note on Provisional Status: The candidature of reserved category candidates is strictly provisional subject to this verification. For instance, the notification specifically highlights that the candidature of Ms. Neha (Roll No. 8208852) is provisional, subject to the final verification of her EWS certificate from the issuing authority. 7. No Objection Certificate (NOC): If you are currently working in any Govt./Semi Govt./Autonomous Body/PSU, you must obtain and bring an original "NOC" from your present employer along with a photocopy. Failing to produce an NOC is a common reason for instant rejection. 8. Valid Photo ID Proof: Bring your original Aadhar Card, Voter Card, Driving Licence, or Pan Card.
A Warning on Fake Entries: PGIMER has issued a clear warning: if at any time during the selection process it comes to notice that a candidate has filled wrong entries, is not qualified as per the Recruitment Rules, or fails to get their original certificates verified, their candidature will be cancelled immediately. Ensure every spelling matches perfectly!
(If you have any further queries, candidates can contact the Recruitment Cell, PGIMER Chandigarh telephonically at 0172-2755578/79 or visit the reception counter of the Recruitment Cell on any working day between 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM).
4. Didn't Find Your Roll Number? Your Comeback Starts Today!
Nursing competitive exams are incredibly brutal. With tens of thousands of candidates fighting for just 57 posts, mathematically, most people will face rejection. If you scrolled through those 85 names and didn't find yours, it is absolutely normal to feel heartbroken, frustrated, and exhausted.
But at NPrep, we have seen time and time again that a failure is simply data telling you what to fix.
Remember the story of Priti Kumari, who faced devastating failures before entirely changing her strategy to secure an incredible AIR 238 in NORCET? Or Karna Ghosh, who failed his prelims repeatedly before finally cracking NORCET 9 with AIR 287? They didn't have superhuman intelligence; they just had a better strategy.
The year 2026 is a golden era for nursing recruitment. With upcoming mega-drives like NORCET 10, RRB Nursing Superintendent, DSSSB, and various state CHO exams, your dream of becoming a Government Nursing Officer is entirely within reach.
5. The NPrep Strategy: How to Guarantee Your Name on the Next List
If you want to ensure your name is on the NORCET 10 or RRB merit list, you need to stop studying like an average student and start preparing like a topper. Here is the exact NPrep blueprint to turn your setback into a comeback:
A. Stop Just Taking Mocks—Start Analyzing Them
One of the biggest mistakes repeaters make is blindly taking hundreds of mock tests without reviewing their performance. As we teach at NPrep, taking a mock test only shows you your current level; analyzing it is what actually improves your score. Every time you attempt an NPrep NASHTA mock test, spend two hours analyzing the solutions. Understand why the right answer is right, and more importantly, why your chosen answer was wrong.
B. Build Your "Mistake Notebook"
The single most powerful habit that separates top rankers from the rest is the "Mistake Notebook". Get a fresh diary today. Every time you get an MCQ wrong in your practice sessions, write the core concept down in this notebook. Revise this book every Sunday. By the time your next exam arrives, you will have a personalized guide containing all your weakest areas, completely eliminating the chance of repeating those errors.
C. Master the Art of Beating Negative Marking
In high-stakes central exams, negative marking is the silent killer. You cannot afford to rely on blind guessing. NPrep toppers swear by the "method of elimination". When faced with an unknown MCQ, don't look for the right answer immediately. Instead, use your clinical knowledge to eliminate two obviously wrong options.
D. Focus on High-Yield Medical-Surgical Nursing (MSN)
Exams like PGIMER, AIIMS, and RRB heavily favor core clinical subjects. Your Medical-Surgical Nursing (MSN), Fundamentals of Nursing, and Pharmacology concepts need to be razor-sharp. Focus specifically on high-yield topics like emergency trauma care, fluid and electrolyte imbalances, and ECG interpretation, as this is the ultimate rank-decider.
Make Your Next Attempt Your Best Attempt
You have allowed yourself a day to feel disappointed; now it is time to get back to work.
Download the NPrep App today, India's leading nursing exam preparation platform. Gain access to high-yield video lectures, advanced AI-driven QBanks, PYQ (Previous Year Question) analyses, and the highly acclaimed NASHTA mock test series designed specifically to mimic the pressure of real central government CBT exams.
Your roll number might not be on the PGIMER Sangrur list today, but with relentless consistency and the right NPrep strategy, it will be at the very top of the NORCET 10 merit list tomorrow. Let's get to work!
